It wouldn't be the wee hours of Christmas morning if my back weren't aching and my eyes bleary. But the finishing touches have been added to the secret projects that I finished, and I'm letting go of those projects that I wasn't able to finish (or am I? There are 12 days, after all...). For now, anyway, the presents are wrapped, our traditional Christmas brioche is waiting for morning in the refrigerator, and the torta rustica is ready for dinner.
Even though I'm beat, I find myself nearly as excited as the children. I can't wait to watch people open their gifts and I am eager to see all our family members who are coming to visit over the next few days. I cherish these holidays when there is time for sitting and chatting and playing. Off to sleep, then, so that I have some energy to take it all in tomorrow.
I wish you all the merriest of Christmases and peace and love in the new year.
Merry Xmas to you and the family! Love, Patti
