To make them HARD boiled, turn the timer on for 10 minutes and the burner off right after the water comes to a boil. Then, same thing with the bowl of cold water.

Oh, forgot to add that this hard boiled method comes from Cook's Illustrated.

Hmmm...maybe we'll try it. I am not a fan of imperfectly cooked soft boiled (or any kind) eggs.

Have you used this method with 5 eggs at once?

Andrea, I've used it for multiple eggs, but can't remember if it was exactly 5. I think it will work, though. Try it!

Carey, I have a different approach for hard boiled eggs, but I'll try your way next time.
