We were on the road again this past weekend, up to Long Island and Brooklyn and were quite entertained by these signs entering and exiting Brooklyn.
I am trying to adopt some of that Brooklyn perspective and fuhgeddaboud the stress of the late drive home. I lost patience last night with the fussing, an all out meltdown of my own, really. But in the morning light I know that we were all tired, and what can be a taxing day for adults is that much more challenging for those little people that we love. So I'm trying to learn something from the experience and fuhgeddaboud the not-so-fun part of the trip.
I'd much rather focus on the good times with friends and family: a birthday celebration, cherished chat time, card games (Olivia and Oscar learned how to play bridge!), a few games of catch, and a sailboat ride. There was good food, too: ravioli from Gemelli's, gnocchi at Frankie's Spuntino (check out the cherrypatter review here).
I hope your week finds you on the plus side.
Thank you so much for trudging up to Brooklyn. That was a wicked hard driving day before you even got there, so to combine that with some really long hours after was rough. Julian had such a super wonderful time, and it meant so much to all of us to have you here, and of course the kids were overjoyed with having olivia, oscar and chloe to play with for a few hours -- we see reminders of their play here and there. l.

We were so glad to be there and to see everyone, Laura. So great to see the parents, and of course the kids had a great time, too, with yours. Simon is really holding his own with the big kids now.
