I know this has nothing to do with food or cooking, but once in a while I have to step out of the kitchen.
I love hand made Valentine's Day cards. I don't know whether it is watching my children's little hands make them, listening to their conversation as they work, or the heart-warming (sorry for the pun!) end result. I just love them. This year was full of heart: Oliva made swans that open into a heart, Oscar painted heart cards using a template, and Chloe made heart mice.
The instructions for both the mice and the swans are in a wonderful book called Earthways: Simple Environmental Activites for Young Children by Carol Petrash. It is a fantastic resource for seasonal crafts for children.
So here are a few pictures to celebrate my children's hand work. And I hope your Valentine's Day brings you a unique creation made with small hands.
